Description Framed print by Currier & Ives, "Flora Temple". Flora Temple was a famous trotter from New York. In an August 26, 1859 advertisement in the Eastern Argus (included in attached images), Flora Temple was referred to as the "little bay mare" that was considered one of the fastest in the United States. A race between Flora Temple from NY and Princess from California was going to be run at Island Trotting Park in the Ligonia section of then-Cape Elizabeth.
