Pearson's dying wish was to have the position filled by Charles Dunn, however many civilians had written to the Governor requesting the appointment of Melville W. Trefethen from South Portland. Eben N. Perry was serving as senior coroner at the time. Published in the Boston Herald, August 9, 1902. |
