Bug Light Park, 1995 - Irving Oil Corporation proposed a tank development on the Cushing's Point waterfront and the City Council waged a fight against it by issuing a more restrictive fire ordinance and by changing the area's zoning. Irving had purchased 27 acres of the fomer shipyard from Breakwater Condominium Associates, and was proposing to build 19 oil storage tanks on the site.
