Letter to the editor by Althea A. Lovejoy, president of the League of Woman Voters of South Portland, in which she thanks Bernal Allen and staff for the great job they did planning and running the Northeastern States Industrial Exposition. The exposition took place in August 1960 in the new Hannaford distribution center building. Per Bernal Allen's letter to citizens in the 1960 city annual report, attendance at the industrial exposition exceeded 100,000 and contracts amounting to $3,238,505 were awarded to non-federal exhibitors, of which $1,618,237 went to Maine businesses. |
