In 1899, a fire broke out at the George E. Skillings blacksmith shop at Cash Corner and spread to the Horace B. Plummer harness shop. Both buildings burned to the ground. The Cash's Corner Hose Company got out its lines but could not save the buildings. Published in the Portland Daily Press, January 4, 1899. |
