Fort Preble - Building 25, Artillery Barracks - record from the Quartermaster Book. The Artillery Barracks was built in 1903 at a cost of $39,675. It was constructed with a stone foundation, brick walls, wood floors, and a slate roof. The building initially had a capacity for 109 men. Sleeping porches were installed in April 1918 at a cost of $459.09. The building's capacity was updated to 114 men. This building is now known as Preble Hall on the campus of SMCC. |
