Four Liberty ships will be christened in July, 1945, at the New England Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard in South Portland, Maine. All four ships will be of the "Zipper" class design, Z-EC2-S-C5, with a slightly different design to their cargo holds to allow for transport of boxed aircraft.
