History of 904 Broadway (formerly known as 362 Summer Street), South Portland Maine. A one-page account of 904 Broadway, prepared by the Century 21 Art Smith real estate office. This home at the corner of Broadway and South Kelsey Street was originally a Fickett family home. George H. Fickett and his family first lived there, later his son Charles A. Fickett (a railroad worker) lived in the home. George H. Fickett was a cattle dealer and grazed his cattle on fields near the home. His grandson Robert D. Fickett would later become a dairy farmer and cattle dealer using some of the same land (although Robert lived first at 141 Kelsey Street and later 198 Kelsey Street). **This history mistakenly states that the home was built in the mid 1700s. A Fickett family member has indicated that the home was built in 1854 for George H. Fickett and his wife. |
