The Trinity Semper Paratus Club, meeting minutes. Undated. This club appears to have been a social club, formed by women who belonged to the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church. In this journal, the ladies met to, at first, organize and put on a two-act comedy, "Our Church Fair" which they performed in numerous locations around South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and Portland, resulting in a treasury of $100.05. The minutes appear to have been recorded by secretary Mrs. Dalzell after the fact. The first record starts with a meeting on January 13, and she recorded that on their meeting of March 14, they decided to form themselves into a club. At the meeting on March 21, they said that they would call themselves the Trinity Semper Paratus Club. One of the founders and leaders of the club was Mrs. Ada Littlejohn. The first president of the club was Miss Alice Trafton. |
