Copy of the drawing for the tech manual for the Liberty ship SS Albert M. Boe (NESC hull number 3132). Drawing by employee Herman D. Stover, Jr. The SS Albert M. Boe was built at New England Shipbuilding Corporation, South Portland, Maine. The ship was designed as a boxed aircraft transport, of the Z-EC2-S-C5 design, with four holds instead of the standard five. The ship was laid down on July 11, 1945, launched on September 15, 1945, and completed on October 30, 1945. The ship was later renamed the SS Star of Kodiak and is now owned by Trident Seafoods. It is one of only four Liberty ships left in existence. The ship is landlocked in Kodiak, Alaska, and is no longer operational. It is used as a cannery facility by Trident. |
