Blind So. Portland man regains hope |
Date |
1947 |
Scope & Content |
Harold Bagley suddenly became blind in 1945. His sister gave him a piece of land, his former coworkers at Portland Stove Foundry came together to build him a store, and his cousin shingled the roof in December, 1946. Members of the Portland Central Labor Union and locals of the International Molders and Foundry Workers Union throughout the country gave him a check for $1,100. He is now running a successful grocery. Published in the Lewiston Daily Sun, June 11, 1947. |
