Moved to South Portland in 1955 to Derby Road. Played for the Tigers in the South Portland National Little League, 1960-1962. Played in the Sunset Park Babe Ruth League, 1964-1965. Played for American Legion baseball, Stewart P. Morrill Post #35, 1966-1968. State champions in 1967 and 1968. Played on the Brown School 5th and 6th grade flag football team and the Brown School 5th and 6th grade basketball team. Played on the SPJH tennis and basketball teams (7th and 8th) and 8th grade football team. Played on SPHS tennis (9), basketball (9-12), baseball (10-12) Played for UMaine Black Bears freshman basketball, freshman baseball and varsity baseball (1970, '71, and '72). In the summers of 1969-70, and 1972-73, played in the Portland Twilight League for the Ametek Redskins and the South Portland Merchants. In 1974-1980, Livingston started his own team in the Twilight League, as the player-manager-coach of the Yarmouth Townies ('74-'76), the Maine Merchants (1977), and the Intown Portland Associates (1978-'80). In 1981, Al rejoined the South Portland Merchants as a player/co-coach. From 1987-92, coached the American Legion team affiliated with the Stewart P. Morrill Post - first called Griffin Club, then A & M Transmission, then Morrill Post. From 2014-2018, coached American Legion baseball again (as assistant or head coach) of the Morrill Post and Yankee Ford. Member, IAABO basketball officials, 1974-1980, and 1992-2014. High school and college basketball referee. Member, Maine Baseball Hall of Fame. Member, South Portland School Board Member, South Portland City Council |
