Description |
Bear cub and monkey at Willard Beach. The collection of animals was organized by Samuel Silverman, who ran the Willard Beach Bath House, Sam's Lunch, the Willard Inn and the popcorn stand on Willard Beach, all at the foot of Willard Street. Silverman kept some monkeys and bear cubs there, he had a greased pole erected, and organized various competitions and events to generate business for his businesses on the beach. |
