Description |
Portland Shipbuilding - 1917 - construction of the steamer Kingfisher. Photo taken on September 12, 1917. Framing up the ship; the frames are being put into position on the keel. The Kingfisher was one of several fishing trawlers built under contract by Portland Shipbuilding Company, South Portland, Maine, for East Coast Fisheries Company during World War I. The ship was completed and launched in February, 1918. |
