Description |
Willard Beach, showing Willard Haven Inn and Henry Griffin's store, which served as the refreshment center for beachgoers. The small building on the beach between them was Sam Silverman's popcorn stand. The greased pole that was enjoyed by many can be seen just behind the stand. The popcorn stand later became "The Dory" in the 1970s, run by Thomas and Alice Carmody; the building still exists today at the end of Willard Street. |
