Description |
Aerial view of Turner's Island, South Portland, Maine. The old Million Dollar Bridge is at the upper right. Coal Wharf Four can still be seen but the coal diggers were removed before 1950; rail tracks were still there and maintenance building was still beside the wharf. Across Fore River is the China Clay Wharf and West Commercial Streeet and the old east yard of the Portland Terminal Company railroad. Elm Street comes in the lower right. Texaco Oil Company is at the far right. Note from donor: "This picture was taken before 1958 because I tore down my old garage and built a new one in 1958. My old garage can still be seen in this picture." |
