Description |
Framed primitive oil painting showing the A.J. Cash store in Cash Corner, corner of Brown Street (Broadway) and Main Street, where the One Stop Party Shoppe is now located. The painting is misidentified (appears to have suffered an overpainting "correction" so that it says the G.W. Cash store). This mercantile grocer business was established in 1882 by Andrew J. Cash, Sr. He brought his oldest son, Andrew J. Cash, Jr., into the business as a partner. Just before Andrew Sr. died in 1892, he turned over his share in the business to his other son, Alphonso P. Cash. |
