Christening bottle for the SS William Sturgis, a Liberty ship that was built at the East Yard of New England Shipbuilding Corporation. The ship was launched on August 12, 1943. This is the commemorative bottle that was presented to the ship sponsor, Mrs. Annie May Dickson. Annie was married to Richard Dickson who was the Clerk of the Works at New England Shipbuilding. Annie was accompanied to the ship launching by her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Ballard. |
