Turner and Cahoon shipyard (1846/7-1849) - George Turner buys half of land in December 1846, other half in February 1847. George Turner and James B. Cahoon, hired shipbuilder Benjamin W. Pickett. George Turner died in 1848. Benjamin Pickett bought the shipyard in 1849. 1848-6-17 - steam ferry Elizabeth (147 tons) 1848-12-26 - ship George Turner (518 tons), owned by Turner & Cahoon and Capt.
