The former Cumberland Shipbuilding Company shipyard, end of Broadway, South Portland, Maine. This photo was taken in 1940 just before construction began to create the yard of Todd-Bath Iron Shipbuilding Corporation. Only a few vacant buildings and an empty cradle remain of the once thriving shipyard that had been established during World War I. |
