The Marine Hardware-Equipment Co. was founded in 1903 and was located in the factory building on the Ferry Village waterfront in South Portland, Maine. The factory had previously been home to the John P. Lovell bicycle, sporting goods, and gun manufacturing plant. The Marine Hardware-Equipment Co. manufactured a wide variety of metal hardware products for ships, yachts, motor boats and fishing vessels. The product line included wire rope fittings, drop forged connecting links, anchors, turnbuckles, shackles, eye bolts, hooks, thimbles and more. The company ceased operation in 1928 when it sold all of its property and assets to Maine Steel Products Company. |
